At EWPD, we are dedicated to promoting gender equality and empowering women and children in rural Nigerian communities through education and advocacy.

Training

We conduct training on a consultancy basis in participatory methods. Participatory evaluations and gender training for various organizations.

EWPD uses Popular Education Methodologies(PED) in its training programmes. PEM focuses on empowerment - the freedom to discuss, share and ultimately to gain control over ones life.The main focus is the empowerment of Niger Delta rural communities especially the marginalized women.

Community-Centric Approach

We work with rural groups in Niger Delta as well as States in the Eastern,Western,Southern,Northern and Middle belt areas of Nigeria. Members of the rura1 groups are active participants and beneficiaries of Emancipation of Women for Peace and Development programmes.

We also work with traditional rulers. The traditional rulers programme is implemented at three levels:Local,State and Regional Development Community. 


CONSULTANCY

To enhance organizational sustainability, Emancipation of Women for Peace and Development offers consultancy on a variety of subjects for reasonable fees. The following are some examples: Gender Awareness and Analysis, Human Rights Training, Advocacy, Participatory project planning monitoring and evaluation, Popular Education Methodologies(PEM) etc

Emancipation of Women for Peace and Development (EWPD) is a Nigerian gender focused NGO working with communities, especially women and children, in rural areas to contribute towards sustainable human development using popular education methodologies.

The organisation's principle objective is to contribute to the act for human rights and creation of sustainable economic and social systems which are controlled by rural communities and which respond to their needs. 

Our Mission

Also EWPD is working night and day to ensure that there is a restoration of the dignity of the Nigerian Girl Child and Women to foster peace and equity in our land.
